AIRCHECK is a podcast about radio's personality from radio personalities. Whether you’re in the radio industry yourself, or have just have a love for the medium, each episode will take you backstage, in the studio and on the air at some of biggest radio stations in the country. You’ll live vicariously through radio stories and celebrity interviews shared by those who were privileged to have these opportunities. Some have also shared the actual audio from those moments frozen in time.
For those who find themselves the result of “reduction in force” you’ll appreciate the words of wisdom and advice from some of the radio industries best; Program Directors, General Managers, Consultants, Owners, Trade Journalists and the Air Personalities themselves who have successfully applied their skillset elsewhere.

Buzz Knight: Crafting Radio's Future with Innovation & Strategy (Pt 2)
(Pt 2 of 4) Buzz Knight is a Radio Executive who has been involved in every aspect of the Radio industry. He is currently Founder and Head of Strategy at Buzz Knight Media. His latest content creation is the new podcast "Takin' A Walk".
Originally from Connecticut, his Radio days began in college at the University of Dayton at the campus radio station. He landed his first Program Director job at WRKI/Danbury, CT while also getting some air time at 102.7 WNEW/New York. His Rock Radio journey continued as he went on to land subsequent Program Director roles for WLVQ/Columbus, WNOR/Norfolk and WZLX/Boston.
Radio company, Greater Media then hired Buzz for the role of Senior VP/Programming. During that time, Buzz was tasked with many responsibilities including cultivating air talent and managing the brand strength of the company’s radio stations.
In part two of this four part AIRCHECK session, Buzz talks about leaving the New York metro to program Columbus, Ohio’s rock station, WLVQ. He also shares how WLVQ put on the first Rock concert at Ohio Stadium. His WLVQ time also included memorable interviews with Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, Looney Tunes Mel Blanc, and a run-in with Howard Stern.
